I entered remix competition with only a few days left before the deadline. It's called "The Blueprint 2009 Remix Contest". The prize is a spot on the Blueprint 2009 remixTape. The contest went for 13 weeks. Each week a song is chosen from the Jay-Z's Blueprint album to be remixed. Week 13 is "Girls Girls Girls" by Jay-Z. I chose to make a drum n' bass remix, while everyone did a hip hop remix.. :P
I doubt they'll even consider it because it's not in the Hip Hop genre...but whatevs...its still a Remix. :)

Here's a beat I made using the sample from Saad and Matt's video. The melody was originally from Jojo & Ian from SwigFu. It was chopped, edited, rearranged and added my own spin on it.
Sexy R&B feel to it... I don't know how to explain it but 'Booty Call' type music was the first thing that came to mind because of the BB tone. HAHA.
Here's an hour-long harmonically mixed-mix, I made for release on Valentines Day (FEB.14). Originally the mix was made for a friend of mine who has never really listened to any Dn'B. This mix was to 'break' her into the Dn'B sound. She has a R&B music type background. So I mixed in some tracks I thought she'd be sorta familiar by mashing R&B tracks in there....
Lotsa 'Lovey-Dovey' Soul type tracks, (Mutt, Redeyes, Calibre, Atlantic Connection ...etc etc..) just the right feeling for FEB.14 hehe.
Easy listening, chill out music that would make yo' hips move.

update: I fixed the track with some EQ'ing and various fades to make it more clean and got rid of the distortion too! The bass pounds clean. Reverb was added to some elements as well. I'm by no means a sound engineer or anything, so I did it to my best of my ability of what sounded good to me. Anyone wanna send me links to tutorials on how to properly EQ n' all that 'ish!?
